I would love to get away from having to use a third-party authenticator to get a token to get into Bitwarden. I am very tone deaf to UI, and I deal with so much bad UX that I scarcely notice anymore. Both have real strengths and that's what keeps me struggling to decide between them. Obviously a subjective thing to some degree (although not entirely). I'm saying it's NOT a clear case of it being worse.

I'm not saying it's a clear case of Bitwarden's UI or UX being better. I'd be using NordPass and would be happy to switch my wife and daughters to it if only it could generate third-party TOTP tokens the way 1Password and Bitwarden can. I also feel that Bitwarden's desktop browser extension is easier to use, because more simply and clearly designed. It's a trivial thing, but it will irk my wife. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but 1Password continues to ask me for my master password once a day at least. Windows Hello gets me into Bitwarden very easily every time. (I use Bitwarden itself - and/or 1Password - to enter tokens for all my other sites.) Well, recent improvements in Bitwarden (or perhaps they're old improvements I've only recently figured out) make that mostly unnecessary. My main dissatisfaction with Bitwarden is now and has been that I would love to get away from having to use a third-party authenticator to get a 2FA token to get into Bitwarden. I also find that, at the present time, getting into Bitwarden requires less effort than getting into 1Password. I suspect most users are content to use login, card or identity records and put everything else in memo records. Bitwarden, like NordPass (which I think has the best UX of these three) has only four record types. Unnecessary, and will baffle my wife (who is a successful attorney and by no means a dummy). For example, there are over twenty record types. I know my way around it without any problems (I've been using it since forever) I'm afraid it will confuse my wife. More of 1Password's plethora of options are right out in the open where they add to UI clutter. It's plain, but at least it's clean and functional and fairly minimalist (at least on the surface). Well, I think it's a closer call than you do.īitwarden isn't "pretty", the way NordPass and Dashlane are.
